Hanger has a new permanent home

Hanger’s full speciality steak menu is now available at the Aungier Street spot; Bow Lane, with classic steaks, burgers, and sides such as crispy suckling pig belly and Korean-style short rib croquettes.

According to their Instagram, Chef Gavin Mc Donagh and his team will be launching a new Menu on July 20. They described the coming menu as “It isn’t restaurant service per se, more a bar-food buzz” to CHAR.

Hanger debuted early in July 2021 in the ‘horse and cart yard’ of the Iveagh Market as part of ‘Dinetown’. They were gaining some traction before an (apparently malicious) fire shut the whole thing down.

Their specialities included a beautiful Irish Bavette cooked over Irish timber with bone marrow and Madeira sauce. Diehards will remember the barbecued tartare of Hereford beef heart with Roscoff onion pureé and chive oil.

You’ll find Hanger steak at Bow Lane Wednesday – Sunday from 19:00, with buy one, get one free cocktail deals to follow every night bar Saturday. This Wednesday and Thursday, however, they are closed to facilitate some refurb work.

There is no booking required, so you can rock on up from Friday if you have a hankering for some flame-grilled beefy goodness.

The is the latest in a series of well-known food trucks taking residency in bars, following the likes of Fuppin Delish and Mad Yolks.

Meanwhile, Bow Lane will continue their bottomless brunch schtick on Saturdays and Sundays, with a bottomless supper on Friday.
