Dublin Wins At The Irish Food & Wine Restaurant of the Year Awards

The Irish Food & Wine Restaurant of the Year Awards took place this weekend at Dublin’s Mansion House. In association with Remy Martin, recognise the very best in Irish food, drink and hospitality.

Taking place at the Round Room at the Mansion House in Dublin on Sunday, November 6 2022, the gala ceremony saw hundreds of guests gather to network, share industry knowledge and celebrate success.

Saltwater Grocery was announced as Newcomer of the Year, with Library Street hot on their heels as the highly commended second place.

Orwell Road’s Dan Hannigan won young chef of the year, and the OG that is Chapter One won Best Restaurant in Ireland. The big winner of the much sought-after Innovator of the Year went to the genius behind Blasta Books that is Kristin Jensen.

Aside from that, Dublin had its own section of local winners, with Volpe Nera taking home Best Wine Experience and Margadh RHA beating out Big Fan to claim the casual dining crown.

At the event, guests were treated to a delicious meal devised by With Taste, with
support from Kish Fish, Gahan Meats and HireAll. We started out with Kish cured
smoked salmon with Lambay crab, and a potato pancake alongside Firehouse
sourdough and Guinness and treacle brown bread with Glenilen Farm farmhouse
butter.

For mains, guests enjoyed treacle-glazed beef fillet with short rib and bone marrow
tart, TJ O’Shea’s new season carrot confit and red wine essence. To finish, there
was a winter set brûlée with warm carrot and saffron French toast.

O’Brien’s Wines supplied fabulous Gérard Bertrand wines to match the meal, as well
as sponsoring our Wine Experience Awards.

The event was attended by some of Ireland’s best chefs and restaurateurs from
across the country, but if you weren’t able to join us at the awards, we have the full
list of winners below, so read on to find out who took home the top prizes earlier
today.
