Nutbutter to Launch new Dublin 7 Location Tomorrow

According to their Instagram, the cult flexitarian restaurant is opening a second location in Smithfield tomorrow morning.

Nutbutter opens from 07:30 – 21.30, and breakfast options include Açaí bowls, porridge, a range of toasts, and many different nut butters. It’s deli-style here, so you order at the counter and take it to your seat. Signature salads make up the main lunch menu, with late plates available from 17:00 – 21.30.

Nutbutter also does “healthy” sweet treats; think gluten-free-diabetic-friendly brownies and artisan coffee.

They describe their menu as featuring “the freshest responsibly sourced Irish ingredients” which are all cooked “from scratch” with “a Californian twist” on their website.

Coffee comes from Silverskin Roasters, an award-winning Irish-owned and operated boutique coffee roasting company that ran the infamous coffee kiosk in Ballsbridge.

Set up by Paddy Hogan of HQ Gastrobar, Nutbutter opened in 2018 on Grand Canal Dock. They were one of the first places to offer a plant-based but not fully vegetarian menu that was high-key Instagram-able at the time.

According to the website, “Paddy Hogan came home from California with a dream. A healthy dream. A plant-based dream. A slow-cooked brisket dream. Ok, Paddy had a few dreams. But he quickly twigged that he could bring them all together to create one big healthy, affordable, flexitarian dream. You know where this is going…Paddy created THE NUTBUTTER DREAM.”

The place was inspired by Paddy’s forrays in LA, and the wicker swing chairs are a testament to that. It was also a clever marketing technique for the time, as they were an additional experience at the dawn of the experience economy. Many places describe it as “Worth a visit for the stunning interiors alone“.
