Mixology Maverick Oisín Davies Unleashes “Irish Kitchen Cocktails”

Words: Shamim de Brún

Oisín Davies is on the scene, and he’s about to drop a cocktail bombshell with his debut book, “Irish Kitchen Cocktails,” hitting shelves on October 5.

What’s the deal with this book? Well, it’s not just your run-of-the-mill cocktail recipe collection. Nope, Oisín Davies is on a mission to show you how to make those classy, cool, and downright fun cocktails using Irish spirits without needing a secret bartender’s lab. You don’t need a fancy cocktail shaker or a mixology degree. Just raid your kitchen and you’re good to go.

Who is Oisín Davies, you ask? He’s not your average mixologist. He’s been around the block and the globe. From Irish-American life in New Jersey to the lively bars and clubs of Ireland. With over two decades in the drinks industry, he’s got street cred. Now he’s using it to put Irish spirits on the map. He’s Irish spirits’ biggest hype man. He wants to shout from the rooftops, “Why aren’t we talking about Irish drinks as much as we drool over Irish food?”

In “Irish Kitchen Cocktails,” Oisín serves up 60 mouthwatering concoctions. Simple ones that you can whip up at home using your everyday kitchen gear. No need to buy a cocktail shaker that looks like it belongs in a sci-fi movie. Plus, he sprinkles in some personal stories, like legendary summer block parties and cocktails named after his mates.

From frozen cocktails to party punches and everything in between, Oisín’s got your cocktail cravings covered. And guess what? He’s taking his show on the road with “Irish Kitchen Cocktails” pop-ups around the country. So you can taste his creations and score a signed copy of the book.

The book is published by CHAR favourites Nine Bean Rows. Unlike the Blasta Books series it comes with retro-style pics by photographer Joanne Murphy and stylist Orla Neligan.

Starting October 5, you can snag a copy for €18 at your favourite bookstore, indie retailers, or grab one online at ninebeanrowsbooks.com. So, get ready to sip in style, Irish style, with “Irish Kitchen Cocktails” by Oisín Davies. Cheers!
