Dog-Friendly Deli Opens Near Phoenix Park

Park Lane Deli opened earlier this month on the corner of Park Lane and Main Street, right beside the pedestrian gate from Chapelizod to the Phoenix Park to much fanfare.

The new local deli is serving speciality coffee from Silver Skin Coffee Roasters, as well as toasties, acai bowls, and superfood bowls. Their offerings also feature treats from the flourless bakery Bretzel in Incicore.

The building was formerly Kelly’s Newsagent and Post Office, which closed in June 2021 to much local dismay. The building itself has been lovingly restored, and it’s heartening to locals to see it back serving customers.

The deli section is populated by goods from local Irish producers as well as meat from FX Buckley. There is a forthcoming fish section as well as talk of a small wine list in the offing.

Local designer and architect Roisin Power was instrumental in the fit-out, which has been very well received by locals.

The deli is a small two-handed team at the moment. Spearheaded by owner-operator Michael Kearney, affectionately known as Mick, this deli aims to plug into the community his grandmother lived in for over twenty years. His wife, Fernanda, has been on the ground supporting him and working since they opened.

The small monochromatic space is pitched perfectly for a light lunch. Or to grab some Irish-made bits for a picnic in the adjoining Phoenix Park.
