Bahay, Goats Gruff and Bolt Burger Announced for Otherside
Otherside Festival is the most recent addition to the Irish festival circuit and has revealed an ambitious lineup of comedy and music. In addition, they’ve now announced the next wave of food trucks.
Otherside doesn’t believe that festivals mean lesser quality when it comes to food and drink. Bahay, Goats Gruff and Bolt Burger are all high-quality local food vendors known for their freshness. There will also be a full-on sit-down restaurant for brunch and evening sittings. You’ll also find pop up bars serving proper cocktails, wine and ice cold draught.
Bahay is a slight Filipino flavour focused food truck. Inspired by ‘Vietnom’ ex-Clanbrassil House chef Richie Castillo and girlfriend Alex O’Neill broke off to bring Richie’s dad’s recipes to the people. Their menus focus on locally grown, seasonal Irish produce with Filipino flavours and cooking styles. Typically they have street food options, small plates and specials.
Goats Gruff is a little food truck serving speciality coffee and Neapolitan pizza. Prioritising local ingredients, they also have fresh pastries for breakfast and sourdough wood-fired sambos on their lunch menu. The team behind this little truck has become a go-to spot in the Strawberry Beds.
Bolt Burger is a burger slinger with a difference. With a firm focus on flavour, they offer well-seasoned grub that is hearty and nutritious. They serve got burgers, spicy wings, chicken burgers, and meaty and non-meaty nachos from their regular slot in Fourth Corner.
Ireland has been going through a Food Truck blossoming. Our culinary culture is having its moment, so including a vibrant lineup of mainstay food trucks is on the moment’s pulse. Prioritising food culture has become central to Dublin’s recent evolution. Seeing it put in pride of place with other cultural pillars is heartening.
Based in Rock Farm, Slane Co. Meath, the three-day festival will showcase various music, arts and comedy. Running from July 8-10 with stages hosted by The Cobblestone Bar, District Magazine, and The Midnight Disco and Melodic.
Tickets start at a hundred and twenty euros and are available via Ticketmaster but are strictly limited to only 3,000.
