Bahay Are Coming To Dublin 8

Bahay will pop up at Hen’s Teeth for a weekender early next month.

The pop up will run on Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8. Booking is recommended. Hen’s Teeth is always packed on weekends, especially with pop-ups as popular as Bahay.

Expect small plate street food with big Filipino flavours and a couple of specially selected cocktails added to the menu. They will be announcing the exact menu next week so keep an eye on their Instagram.

Hen’s Teeth is a shop, gallery & café on Blackpitts in Dublin 8. Established in 2015, they work with local and international artists to create original artworks. The cafe uses locally roasted coffee and serves natural wine. Hen’s Teeth has recently gained notoriety for their Feed Us tasting menu. Their version of a Sunday Roast is much coveted and tends to draw a crowd.

Bahay is a slight Filipino flavour focused food truck. Inspired by ‘Vietnom’ ex-Clanbrassil House chef Richie Castillo and girlfriend Alex O’Neill broke off to bring Richie’s dad’s recipes to the people of Dublin. Last year they were featured in Roe & Co’s D-8TE, and tickets disappeared as soon as they went live.

Their menus focus on locally grown, seasonal Irish produce with Filipino flavours and cooking styles. Typically they have street food options, small plates and specials. Their specials depend on what produces is fresh and available in a given week. Some of the past favourites delivered include hearty Filipino stews, brussel sprout slaw with calamansi dressing, and longanisa hot dogs and pork buns.

Hen’s Teeth said, “We’ve been huge fans of the Bahay crew for a while now, so we’re really buzzed about this one.”
