Monday, May 11th is National Eat What You Want Day. Finally, one of those nonsense holidays we can actually get behind. It’s giving Paddy’s-Day-during-Lent energy, or how calories don’t count when you’re on holidays. Everyone needs a cheat day now and again. Brb, starting a petition to make May 11th an actual holiday.
To mark this ever-so-important and momentous national day, we’ve rounded up a few properly indulgent orders from some of our favourite spots on Just Eat.
There are breakfast sandwiches and then there’s this. A beast, if you will. Sando Paradiso’s Breakfast Sando is straight-up filth. Smoked streaky rashers, fried egg, sausage, black pudding, hash brown, a rich tomato relish & butter – all piled high and encased in fluffy, thick, white bread. This sambo is your only man if you happened to overdo it the night before. Order here.
Not enough people are talking about Fired Up Pizza in Goatstown. Honestly, their wood fire pizzas are some of the best on the Southside. And since Vodka sauce is still having its moment – it’s our vote from the menu. Fired Up’s Vodka Pie is rich, spicy, meaty, and aggressively cheesy. Order here.
Farmer Brown’s understands excess in the most comforting way. They embody this in the form of their Po’ Boy Burger. Stacked to an almost stressful height, it’s loaded with crispy buttermilk chicken, pickles, lettuce, and ranch on a toasted brioche bun. Impossible to eat without making a complete show of yourself, but on a day like this do you really care? Order here.
There’s nothing more indulgent in carbs, except for perhaps carbs upon carbs. And Sprezzatura’s menu is full of ‘em. We’re talking arancini, fresh pasta, pizzas, and tiramisu for dessert. Kick off the day with an order of mozzarella sticks with arrabiata ketchup, followed by their signature Fennel Sausage Ragu, and of course, don’t skip dessert. Not on a day like this. Order here.
The Spicy Beefo from Grilloadh is beefy indeed. Let’s call it the Arnold Schwarzenegger of sambos. Warning: you will not look cute if you eat this in public. The Spicy Beefo is loaded with slow cooked brisket, pickled onion, jalapeños, vintage cheddar, Irish mozzarella, and crisps, all stuffed into a malted sourdough – with enough sweet buffalo sauce you might need to consider wearing a bib. Completely worth it. Order here.
An outrageous food item, All Bar Chicken’s Katsu Curry 4 in 1 is a national treasure. It’s a dish that feels spiritually aligned with the entire concept of National Eat What You Want Day. Panko chicken breast, crispy chips, boiled rice, & mixed veg, all smothered in their Katsu curry sauce. Would ya be well? Order here.
Look, the whole point of this day is to enjoy yourself. Order the thing you actually want. Add the side. Get dessert as well. Life is short. YOLO and all that.
