Whiplash Beer Release 3 Limited Edition International Collabs

Each is a collaboration with breweries that visited Dublin for the Fidelity Beer Festival in July.

The Whiplash team spent the days running up to the festival welcoming the brewers from Cerebral Brewing (Colorado, USA), Donzoko (Leith, Scotland) and Finback (New York, USA) into their brewery to create some new beers together. All of which launched today on their website.

Where to get them

The stock is extremely limited, with just under three cases of each left on the webshop. In context, that’s less than seventy cans of each beer. All of them come in 440ml cans with the kind of cohesive design we’ve come to expect from Whiplash. The cans range from a fiver each to six, with a mixed pack of two of each landing at thirty euros.

The remaining stock is making its way to select retailers and bars now but, again is super limited. Craft Central (online and on Stephen St, Dublin 2 will definitely be getting a few, Mace SCR Dublin 8, Bradley’s in Cork already have stock,

If you’re more of a draft punter, then The Big Romance is your best chance.

The deets

At Dusk is the strongest of the three and is a Double IPA that hits home at 8.3% abv. This bad boy was born of the collaboration with American juggernauts Cerebral Brewing. It is absolutely bursting with orange and lime juice right off the bat. The hops, El Dorado and Motueka are singing in this big, hazy banger with a finish that lingers just long enough to send you back for another gulp.

Witness is their new Double Dry Hopped Pilsner that packs a solid 5.2% abv. This was made in collaboration with Finback from the USA. Finback is a more experimental brewery that goes hard on the dry hopping and is most well known for an IPL brewed with green tea and watermelon. This collab comes in with notes of orange peel and even a hint of jellies when you sniff it. It’s more subtle when you taste it and is something a real pilsner fan would enjoy.

The third is their collaboration with Donzoko from the UK. Called Only When I Sleep, it is a light Lager coming it at 4.2%. It’s a clean, crispy boi. Straight up light lager style. Refreshing. Nothing else to say about it. Donzoko is German Inspired modern brewery from the heart of the North-East brougham terrace, Hartlepool, UK. They’re best known for their fermentation flavour-forward wheat beers.
