White Claw Hard Seltzer is bringing a Wave of Summer immersive pop-up to Dublin

Words: Emily Mullen

White Claw’s Wave of Summer popup will be held in one of the city’s most beloved locations from August 18th until September 5th

Last Summer, the US brand White Claw launched their range of hard seltzer drinks into a fluxing Irish market. The fun-loving social drink that encapsulated all that travel and frivolity had to offer, launched in June last year and has captured the hearts and connected to lifestyles of the Irish drinker!

Despite this, White Claw achieved runaway success, the hard seltzer so well established across the pond, made the ultimate splash in Ireland. During our weekly highlight of going to the shop during lockdown, many of us remember searching middle shelves and aisles for cans of the soldout stuff!

Now as a celebration of their second successful year trading in the country, White Claw are helping us to end the Summer on a high by creating an immersive pop-up experience.

The Wave of Summer popup will be giving Dubliners the opportunity to dive into music, entertainment and creativity from some of the country’s top personalities. From the stunning surroundings of Portobello’s Lock 6, attendees will have the opportunity to sip on some hard seltzers, have a browse through some Chubby Co merch and take a look at the recycle wall collaboration with Every Can Counts.

By day the popup will be a creative and expressive space, while at night there will be a range of explosive and intimate musical and comedic performances. Each day the mic will be taken over by a different Irish creative force from likes of 2FM DJ Tara Stewart, Red FM’s Izzy Healy alongside takeovers from podcasters Kevin Twomey and PJ Kirby, there will even be a District Magazine takeover on August 20th. Creativity will not just be housed in the walls, but also on the walls, in honour of the event, local artists have created a gram-worthy Wave of Summer mural on the exterior of the building, and Neil Patrick Collins will be part of the creativity by installing a bespoke installation.

Attendees will have the opportunity to try a complimentary White Claw Hard Seltzer, choosing from either Mango, Black Cherry, Natural Lime or Raspberry flavours. While there, visitors can learn more about the brand and the low-cal, gluten-free and all-natural flavoured drink.

White Claw is best-served ice cold and fresh from the can, conscious of this, the team have organised for the non-profit organisation Every Can Counts to be on hand to help recycle used cans at the event. The organisation has also created a recycle wall installation which aims to promote the advantages of recycling drinks cans.

Time-slots of 90-minutes are available through the White Claw Ireland website, masks need to be worn unless seated outdoors.

Opening from August 18th until September 5th, the Wave of Summer popup will be running from Wednesday-Thursday 4pm – 10pm and Friday – Sunday 3pm – 9pm. The event will be located in Lock 6 in Dublin 6’s Canal Road, 90-minute time slots can be booked through the White Claw Ireland website for more information visit the Instagram page.

Please drink White Claw responsibly.
