Today, the Vegan Sandwich Company opens its new venue in Stephens Green Food Village.
The new location will be open from 11:00 – 16:00, or whenever they sell out. The first fifty customers will get a free tote bag. Many of the staff will be the same, and there are also new additions to the team.
The Stephen’s Green Food Village is a food court on the first floor of Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre. Their website says, “the Food Village strives to be innovative and insists on supporting the local food industry whenever possible”.
Vegan Sandwich Co are known for their synthetic meat substitutes that closely resemble the flavour and texture of commonly used sandwich meats. Everything they use is natural ingredients and packaged in fully compostable packaging.
The new location also comes with a new menu. As well as old favourites such as Chick*n fillet rolls, Philly Steaks, and BLTs with bac*n, the menu includes everything from salad bowls to wraps, spice boxes beyond.
Sam Pearson revolutionised vegan lunch in Dublin when he started the Vegan Sandwich company. The website states that the venture was conceived “after one too many encounters with terrible vegan sandwiches”. The business has grown from being a market stall to opening its shop in 2020. They also released a range of synthetic meats stocked nationally by SuperValu. This new pop up marks the first stage in their expansion.
