There’s a Free BBQ Festival in Workmans Next Week

Three years after their inaugural Bison Festival, the lads are back with a two day BBQ and Whiskey Bonanza this June 10 and 11, in partnership with Jameson Black Barrel.

This two day  BBQ Festival is completely free and will be spread across actor haunt Bison Bar and everyone’s favourite smoking area, The Workman’s Club outdoor rooftop.

The festival will include Whiskey experiences, live music, games, competitions, etc. In addition, there will be tasting plates of their signature Bison dishes. Including pulled pork, racks of ribs, brisket, smoked chicken and gravy.

Bison’s own team of BBQ experts and Jameson’s Head Cooper Ger Buckley, Dublin Ink’s Jonathon Gorman, and music from Dublin City Rounders are all set to host one-off experiences.

Check out the full schedule below. Get in early free events tend to pack out quickly, especially with free BBQ involved. The first hundred people to register online in advance will get two complimentary Bison Bucks worth twenty quid that will be redeemable against Jameson drinks.

Expect live music, outdoor BBQ smokin’ meats, live whiskey masterclasses, a hot Wing competition, a whiskey barrel charring demonstration and a tattoo pop-up. There will also be free haircuts.

Bison Bar was the first BBQ joint in Dublin. Head Chef Oliver Byrne was sent to the states to learn about the craft of BBQ. He spent weeks travelling the southern states from Memphis to Texas, mastering the BBQ craft.

Bison are well known for their Southern Pride Smoker. The smoker was so big that they couldn’t get it through the door, so the team had to take down the wall to get into the kitchen. These days they treat all their meats with homemade rubs and smoke them for fourteen hours before serving.
