Rí-Rá Lager is Raising Money for ALONE With Their Christmas Craic..ers

Words: Hannah Lemass

It might be a controversial take, but I reckon the best part of a Christmas dinner is the crackers. A little burst of chaos where you get not only a questionable prize but also a silly hat and, best of all, a hilariously bad joke. Well, Rí-Rá has entered the cracker game, and we’re thrilled to say the jokes in these beauties aren’t funny because they’re bad—they’re legitimately gas.

The jokes in these crackers are written by some of Ireland’s top comedians, including Tony Cantwell, Ali Fox, and Shane Daniel Byrne, and they will have you properly chuckling. And most importantly, if you opt to include these limited edition crackers on your dinner table this year, you will be contributing to a very good cause. All of the profits go to ALONE, supporting their vital work with older people. A very worthy cause indeed, especially at this time of year.

The crackers themselves look class, featuring gorgeous illustrations by Irish artist Jacky Sheridan. Adorable portraits of the comedians’ gorgeous faces adorn the box alongside festive staples like candy canes, turkeys and Santy, all in Jacky’s signature high-contrast style.

Rí-Rá Irish Lager, brewed in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow, is a light, award-winning beer known for its refreshing taste and irreverent identity. These crackers are a fab extension of the brand’s personality, blending banter and good humour with an important cause. Fair play, Rí-Rá!

“Our brand values at Rí-Rá are all about bringing people ‘Le Chéile,’ so this partnership is a perfect fit. The Christmas Craic..ers allow us to share our sense of humour, bringing a bit of ‘ruaille buaille’ to the Christmas table while raising awareness of the great work ALONE does in communities across Ireland.”

Stuart Kinch, CEO of Rí-Rá Brewing Company

ALONE supports older people who are lonely, isolated, frail, or facing other challenges. They provide everything from practical support and befriending services to phone assistance and housing support, with the help of over 5,000 volunteers nationwide.

So, whether you’re after a laugh or just want to do a good deed for the season, head Rí-Rá’s website to grab your Christmas Craic..ers and make your celebrations a bit merrier, funnier and more meaningful.
