The Fire Department extinguished a fire in the early hours of Sunday morning. The blaze was at the popular Dublin 8 cocktail joint Drop Dead Twice.
No one was seriously injured, but two people at an adjacent property required treatment for smoke inhalation.

Drop Dead Twice, a cocktail bar on Francis Street, said to The Journal that no one was hurt. It added that it did not know further details.
Five units responded to the fire at 04:30 Sunday morning. Where what was described as a” well-developed fire” was burning on the ground floor of the multi-story building. The team worked for about four hours, finishing up at 08:30.
Drop Dead Twice describes itself as a “friendly neighbourhood ba” and “Ireland’s only bring-your-own-cocktail ba”. It’s known locally for its Dirtbird burger, adult cool-pops and cocktail jars. In addition, the venue hosts drink and draw sessions and a weekly live watch-along of RuPaul’s Drag race.
On Instagram, they described the incident as a “rollercoaster””. The team said it will be “taking the next few days to regroup and start planning”” but to” “fear not, we’ll be back” They added that they “don’t know how long it will take and what it will look like but [they] will be back”
