Taco Bell is the Latest International Food Chain Coming to Ireland

International food chains seem to be flocking to Ireland lately.

This year, we’re already expecting Wendy’s, Fat Phill’s, and Popeyes. Now Taco Bell is joining the list.

Taco Bell, the famous American fast-food chain known for its loose take on Tex-Mex, is making its Irish debut. It’s arriving through a partnership with Applegreen, with the first location set to open this summer and more expected to pop up at forecourts across the country over the next five years.

“We believe that our unique offering will resonate with consumers in Ireland, providing a new and exciting dining option that celebrates bold flavours and a fun, vibrant atmosphere.”

— Matthew Johnson, New Market Lead for Taco Bell Europe

For the uninitiated, Taco Bell is popular (sometimes hated, and endlessly memed) for menu items like Doritos Locos TacosCrunchwrap Supremes, and Baja Blast drinks.

Taco Bell already has a major international presence, with over 8,700 restaurants across the world. They’re planning further expansion in Ireland, the UK, and the US, adding new locations and redeveloping existing ones.
