Words: Dylan Murphy
Wake up babe, the new Garda uniform just dropped.
In a move that’s more Shutterstock flick than Supreme Look Book, An Garda Síochána today shared the first images from their new uniform. According to their website, the new uniform will consist of: A Two tone Soft Shell Jacket, Two Tone Waterproof Jacket, a Garda Blue Polo Shirt, Operational Trousers (As opposed to the ones that weren’t operational?) and Practical Base layers. We give it a couple weeks before it’s co-opted by hype beasts and up on StockX.
Inevitably, Irish Twitter is feasting on the images and it wasn’t long before the guards got the Star Trek treatment.

I can’t unsee this comparison.
Imagine the sheer brutal indignity of having your illegal eviction overseen by a gaggle of Star Trek extras standing around to make sure some vulture fund can have your gaff up on Daft at twice your rent by the end of the day. https://t.co/ge49c7c8qy

“Watch it you, this jacket costs more than your rent”.
Am I the only wondering about the present upon hearing the news that in future Gardai will be given operational trousers? https://t.co/L2r3lc1n3d

This is an intellectual copyright infringement case waiting to happen. Justice for GAA.

The mighty morphing party poopers.
Elsewhere on District: Irish Twitter is sharing the funniest nicknames they’ve ever heard.
