Hang Tough Contemporary announces 2022 exhibitions

Words: Eva O’Beirne

The exhibition space in the heart of Dublin city will be hosting 14 exhibitions featuring new work from both Irish and international artists across varying mediums.

Now in its eleventh year, Hang Tough Studio have established themselves as experts in bespoke, archival framing, as well as being exhibitors of unique and innovative artwork. Since 2018, Hang Tough have hosted a series of both group and solo exhibitions, as well as events, that have seen countless eager art enthusiasts through their doors.

In 2021, the studio created a dedicated gallery space located at No.4 exchequer Street: Hang Tough Contemporary.

The first exhibition of the new year is a collection of limited addition prints by Irish artist Niall Staines. Named ‘Isolation’, the ideas and inspiration for this new body of work was conceived while Staines was isolating during lock down. It portrays the rollercoaster of emotions that came with being isolated from the rest of the world. It unravels the excruciating never ending days that stretched on and on to the mindless, never ending sessions spent
doom-scrolling through social media.

The launch for ‘Isolation’ is on February 10. You can book tickets to attend the launch here.

Following Staines’s February exhibition is Paul Hallahan’s ‘Words as colour not language’. The exciting collection of
beautiful new paintings will be on display from March 3-20. Hallahan was one of the winners of Hang Tough’s Open Call 2021 competition.
