Gaz to Close All Three Michael’s on Christmas Eve to Give Staff A Break

Sacrificing their own profit for the sake of the team, Michael’s, Little Mikes and Big Mikes will shutter on December 23 so that all their staff can have a proper Christmas break.

If you’ve ever been in the hospitality trenches, you know the holiday season is a wild ride – dodging through Christmas shindigs, dishing out set menus, and playing nutritionist to a gazillion dietary quirks. It’s a crash course in life, guaranteed to spike your blood pressure.

Gaz Smith, the OG chef and boss man behind Michael’s in Mount Merrion, and the sibling joints, Little Mike’s and Big Mike’s spilled the tea, saying, “Once again, we’re giving Christmas Eve the finger and shutting it down. Our crew hustled non-stop, took hits like champs, and went to battle for us. We can’t preach about work-life balance and then be straight-up hypocrites.”

“We’re locking up shop on Christmas Eve. Yeah, we know it’s a buzzkill for our party animals, but let’s be real – our squads in every damn corner busted their butts this year. They faced the odds and came out on top. I say they deserve to kick back, enjoy Christmas with fam and friends, and not stumble home wrecked and stressed on the 24th.”

If their previous track record is anything to go by then after Christmas, brace yourselves for a comeback that’s gonna be epic.
