Féile na Gréine explores Limerick’s musical community in “Out of Place”

Coming to Dublin this February, the documentary by Féile na Gréine features Limerick artists such as Denise Chaila and MurLi.

The team behind Féile na Gréine have announced their latest project to celebrate Limerick’s musical community, “Out of Place”. Launching in Belltable, Limerick on January 27, the project includes their first feature-length documentary and photography book centering the music of Limerick.

Directed by Graham Patterson, “Out of Place” is an exploration on the role music plays in building community, examining the tensions that emerge when musicians struggle to carve out a space for themselves in their city. Featuring performances from Denise Chaila, MuRli, God Knows and more, the documentary apturing the growing diversity and culture of Limerick City.

Having been nominated for Best Documentary at the 2022 Irish Film Festival London, Féile na Gréine are bringing “Out of Place” to Dublin on February 16 in A4 Sounds.

The team will also screen “Out of Place” in Belfast, Galway and more counties across Ireland.

A cassette featuring the documentary’s original soundtrack by Micheál Keating is also available at screenings, with re-arrangements by Naive Ted x Deviant.
