Crywank announce Irish Tour for November 2022

Words: Eva O’Beirne

Anti-folk heroes Crywank have announced headline shows for Belfast, Dublin and Galway.

Despite being self-managed and unsigned, Crywank have amassed over 100 million streams, a dedicated fanbase and toured five continents.

Started in Manchester in 2009 by Jay Clayton as a solo project despite having no previous experience playing guitar, the band has evolved to include Dan Watson (ex-GNOD, Denim & Leather, Prangers) who joined the band on percussion, mixing Crywank’s sound to include d-beat and blast-beats.

Since 2009, Crywank have self-released eight records and planned a world tour which was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The band previously announced they would be breaking up in July 2020 but after two years of hiatus and a surprise solo album, Crywank are back to finish their tour performing around North America and Europe with three Irish dates across November.

The band will be appearing at the Grand Social on November 27, followed by the Roisín Dubh in Galway and the Black Box in Belfast over November 28 and 29.

Tickets start at 16 euro and go on sale Friday 30 September at 09:00. For more information, click here.
