Just Chubbys, a new food truck, opened in Clontarf this weekend

The team at Deli 147 have brought tacos to Dublin 3 and sold them out. The new food truck named Chubbys is located outside Lotts and Co at 46 Clontarf Road.

Deli 147 was a game-changer in sandwiches. Or, as they say on the deli 147 team, “the sammich” game. The healthy-sized sambos have been legendry around town. Now Chubbys is here to get in the Taco game.

They opened at six-thirty on Saturday, thinking that they had prepped enough for the whole weekend but had sold out in just two and a half hours and again by eight-thirty on Saturday evening. The team then took Sunday off to celebrate.

After years of trialling recipes, including “fried chicken that would get a dead man up in the night for a bite”, they’ve landed on four simple taco options. That said, it looks like long-term Just Chubby’s will be a burger, wings, tacos, and fries place.

The Just Chubbys IG page has been a teaser for the past two years, with the pandemic causing launch delays.  Just Chubbys team Barry, Mike & Jen have described the process of getting the food truck open as a “massive ball ache”. But in an Instagram post, they said they were glad to finally get to use the greaseproof paper they ordered.

Their Instagram bio alludes to a more permanent location coming in the offing, so keep an eye on their Instagram for more information.
