Christy Moore, Maverick Sabre and more performances announced for ‘Ireland For All’ Solidarity March

Words: Eva O’Beirne

Maverick Sabre, Adam Mohamed and Christy Moore will be performing in Parnell Square from 13:30 on Saturday February 18.

The ‘Ireland For All – Diversity Not Division’ solidarity march will take place this Saturday in Dublin city centre.

Organised by MASI, the National Women’s Council of Ireland, United Against Racism, Dublin Council of Trade Unions, Ballymun For All, East Wall For All, Black and Irish, INAR, Access for all Ireland, Refuge for Rathdown (Women’s refuge campaign), Kildare For All, Drimnagh For All, Le Chéile Diversity Not Division and many other groups and independent activists, the march is in response to anti-refugee and asylum seeker protests seen across the country in recent weeks.

There is “no place for violent extremism” in Irish society and a large-scale demonstration planned for next week will be a “celebration of diversity”, organisers said at a press conference last week.

Political parties such as People Before Profit, Sinn Féin and the Social Democrats are also part of the coalition.

The march will start at Parnell Square at 13:30, with attendees making their way to the Customs House.

Musical acts announced for the solidarity gathering also include Steo Wall, Smilez, Zeztra and DJ Ciara Lennon.
