BuJo’s Culinary Director Gráinne O’Keefe is opening her own restaurant

Mae I

Gráinne O’Keefe is set to add another string to her bow as she announced the news of her new venture, Mae restaurant. Awarded Food and Wine’s best chef under 30, O’Keefe is currently Culinary Director at BuJo and a former head chef at Clanbrassil House.

O’Keefe is due to open her restaurant Mae in August, with a BuJo representative hinting that it will be “close to us in Sandymount”, on Instagram.

The restaurant is named after O’Keefe’s grandmother Mae, with Las Tapas De Lola writing that they “loved the story behind the name”.

O’Keefe has been heading up the expansion of BuJo’s second premises for the past couple of months. The burger spot is due to open in June and will be located at Castleknock’s junction 6 where the M3/N3 meets the M50.

BuJo’s new spot is set to be “pretty unique” and in keeping with current restrictions it will have a “drive-thru meets click & collect” setup.

“We cannot wait to be part of another great Dublin community and bring our chargrilled, grass fed burgers,” the announcement reads.

BuJo has earned some serious acclaim for their burger spot out in Dublin 4’s Sandymount. One of the first to launch an at-home cooking kit, BuJo have continued to supply the households of Ireland with top-notch burgers throughout the lockdown.

Follow Mae’s Instagram for updates on the launch.
