Brother Hubbard ‘muster up’ some courage and announce cafe no.3

By Emily Mullen

Brother Hubbard South-East?

Brother Hubbard seem to have a penchant for opening businesses during financially challenging times, with their first cafe on Capel Street launched nine years ago in the wake of the financial crash.

Today, Brother Hubbard announced that they would be opening their third cafe in Ranelagh, flying in the face of a second economic crisis.

Announcing the news on the ninth anniversary of their first Brother Hubbard, the team seemed equal parts delighted and amazed.

The choice of location was obvious, with the original Brother Hubbard intended to be situated in Ranelagh “many many moons ago”.

“We opened Brother Hubbard at the absolute height of the financial crisis and the recession. It took a lot of courage and optimism and hard work to do that,” owners Garrett Fitzgerald and James Boland wrote on Instagram

“Now at the height of this current crisis we are mustering up that same sense of courage and optimism,” they added.

Sharing a photo of the orange shop front to Instagram, the Brother Hubbards team admitted that “it needs a lot of love but we are already in love with it”.
