Bahay to Launch New BBQ & Street Party This June

Chez Spice is the latest venture from Filipino foodtruck darlings, Bahay. Kicking off on June 11th at Hens Teeth, the inaugural event promises to be “a day of indulgence in good tunes, great Filipino BBQ and whopper times“.

The BBQ will take place between 14:00 – 16:00 with Bahay themselves on cooking duty, bringing their own brand of Filippino street BBQ to Dublin 8. There’ll also be Pinoy-style cocktails, slushies and drinks to keep you fed and watered before the tunes come out.

Once everyone’s been fed, the self-proclaimed Chez Spice Soundsystem will be unleashed. Richie of Bahay, Tr One, Jack K, Hagi and Karl Guest will all be taking turns spinning Chicago and Detroit House music until 22:00.

The event will take place on June 11th, the day before Philippines Independence Day, between 2 – 10pm at the Hen’s Teeth terrace in Dublin 8. Tickets will either be free or as little as €5, but no information about registering for tickets has been announced as of yet.

Bahay has been operating since 2021, as ran by Richie Castillo and Alex O’Neill. The name comes from the Tagalog word meaning “home“. They’ve seen nationwide success since then, with their foodtruck making appearances at festivals such as Taste of Dublin, All Together Now; as well as popping up in The Glimmerman and appearing on RTE’s Battle of the Food Trucks series.
