Anti Social to Close This Week

Dublin 8 haunt Anti Social announced it will be closing after the Paddy’s Day weekend in an Instagram, post today, Wednesday, March 15.

In the post, they said, “We’ve had incredible fun over the years since we opened and cannot thank all of our great customers and staff enough for spending it with us!”

Anti-Social is the brainchild of Marcus O’Laoire. Marcus has been a musician, a comedian, and a chef, but he found fame as a DJ and promoter. In a Hot Press interview in 2018, Marcus talked of the “generosity of hospitality” and “inclusive… community-focused club nights”. So in 2019, he opened a pub on Francis St.

When Anti Social opened, late in 2019, it was more craft beer-focused, but with the success of its cocktail delivery service during the lockdown, it garnered a cocktail reputation. Including dramatic ‘tower drinks’ of Aperol Spritz or beer.

Anti Social became a bar and event space offering beers, and cocktails, and hosting some of the city’s renowned DJs with unannounced appearances from International acts and a dog-friendly service style.
