A new vegan-friendly greengrocer has opened in Dublin 2

Words: Emily Mullen

Le freak c’est Fruitique

A colourful fruit bomb of a shop has exploded onto Dublin 2’s Lombard Street East. Fruitique is an all-slinging greengrocer, selling fresh fruit and vegetables, alongside cocktails, cold-pressed juices, salads and veg boxes.

Fruitique opened on May 27, and was launched by David Tuohy, who is an ex Teeling Whiskey Company Customer Service Coordinator.

Stocking “the best fruit and vegetables available throughout the year” the team will be making up plant-based salads and cold-pressed juices which will all be made in house.

Fruitique has debuted some of their vegan salads, like the hummus bowl made up of smokey chickpeas, pickled pineapple, cucumber and red onion, and the Waldorf salad with tahini dressing with plenty of walnuts, pear, grapes and celery

The cold-pressed juices have names like 24 Carrot Gold (which has been made up of turmeric, orange and ginger), Ultra Violet (beetroot, red apple, ginger and lime) and Matcha Mojito (cucumber, lime, apple, mint and matcha).

They’ve also announced a “little Cocktail Corner” in-store, which will be serving up things like Piña Coladas.

Fruitique is also rolling out a fruit and veg box service, which will come in a range of sizes and price points.

Their stock comes in compostable Vegware packaging and their logo has been crafted by freelance Dublin designer Andrew Galligan.

You can find Fruitique on Dublin 2’s 15 Lombard Street East, follow them on Instagram for more information.
