Christmas is all about stuffing yourself silly with a roster of utterly delicious Christmas sambos.
It is the most wonderful time of the year. Not because we suddenly become benevolent beings drifting about in a cloud of festive goodwill, children giggling in the background and a gentle cosmic whisper reminding us we have completed yet another lap around the sun. No, it is because we can eat meaty, stuffing filled, cranberry and gravy drenched food every day of the week from now until New Year’s Day and nobody can stop us.
Now begins the parade of restaurants offering their version of the Christmas sambo. It can be a bit overwhelming and nobody wants to wander out into the freezing cold to get their fix. That is where Just Eat can make things a whole lot easier. They have a big selection of spots doing outrageously good Christmas sandwiches that you can have delivered fresh to your door. Here are some of the absolute stars of the 2025 Christmas sandwich line up that you simply have to try.
Carved are sandwich experts and they dedicate their whole operation to crafting restaurant quality sandwiches. This is not your bog standard deli counter. This is a chef led operation making sandwiches a proper gourmet experience. So you know their Christmas sandwich is going to be legit. Naturally you have hefty portions of roast turkey and carved ham alongside some deliciously savoury sausage stuffing, creamy Brie cheese with a kick of tang and sweetness from pickled red cabbage and cranberry, all tied together with a garlic aioli. And the pièce de résistance, a pot of gravy on the side for dipping.
The only words for Greenville’s Christmas sandwich are ‘pure satisfaction’. A perfect balance of hand carved turkey and ham, creamy velvety Brie and an utterly moreish savoury and herbaceous homemade hazelnut, apricot and sage stuffing, with a gorgeously sweet and tangy cranberry sauce and mustard aioli. If you think mustard flavours on a Christmas sandwich are sacrilege then allow us to inform you that you are dead wrong. It works wonderfully to brighten up all those rich flavours.
The folks at Urban Health have mastered the art of creating delicious food that feels incredibly nourishing and wholesome. Their toasted Christmas sandwich is no exception. Turkey, ham, stuffing, Brie cheese, cranberry sauce and some mixed leaves, because a bit of green is good for you. It is all piled high and toasted for a comforting bite. They even have a vegan version with pulled jackfruit and mushrooms so nobody gets left out. They also have far more than just sambos on the Christmas menu. They also have sweet options like gingerbread protein pancakes and a ginger smoothie.
The magic is in the ham here with a Jameson, orange and wholegrain mustard roasted ham hock taking pride of place alongside roast turkey, cranberry sauce and a classic sage and onion stuffing and a whipped Brie cheese. It is a classic combination of flavours but with slight elevations to the ingredients that really make it stand out and feel that little bit special. A pot of dipping gravy on the side takes everything up a notch for a truly indulgent experience.
We fell in love with the Crambo last Christmas and have been waiting all year in anxious anticipation to see if it would be making a grand return and thank the sandwich gods, it has. Shredded ham and turkey breast with gravy, Griolladh special sauce, cranberry sauce, sage and onion stuffing and a delightful crunch from a few crisps too, all on their buttery perfectly toasted malted sourdough. The best part is that it is served with extra gravy on the side for dipping. Perfection.
This sandwich has a real classic homemade vibe to it. Thick and I do mean THICK slices of honey roast ham and roast turkey with Brie and cranberry sauce. It comes on a fluffy soft ciabatta and has a side of turkey and secret stuffing Keogh’s crisps to keep the festive flavours flowing.
This one is truly outrageous and over the top. Have you ever had mashed potatoes on a sandwich? You will now. It is lusciously buttery, the perfect thing to tie together all the other flavours. And the bread? That might be the best part. It is actually a massive Yorkshire pudding. Yes, this one is certainly the most unique on the list which makes it a must try.
