Things to eat in and around Dublin from July 25 until July 31

We’ve collected some of the most delectable foods being sold in Dublin right now and compiled them into an extensive ol’ list. Here are five things in Dublin this week that we like the look of:

05

The Tuscan – Sprout & Co

This beast is composed of seasonal tomatoes, roasted until blistered and sweet, served with roasted aubergine, red onion and caper salsa, sourdough croutons, and fennel-salted almonds and organic kale from the Sprout farm, tossed in a roasted garlic dressing. Along with all that goodness, it’s topped with Cooleeny goat cheese, a drizzle of oregano and 2022’s go-to chilli honey. Salads like these are the guns that follow when the sun comes out. This new seasonal summer salad from Sprout and Co is inspired by pizza. What could be tastier?

04

Cured Meats – Sprezzatura

This coppa and salami is an excellent start to a meal but especially a summer meal. Light but tasty cured meat is sometimes all you want in the world. Just look at them glisten. Could they be any more drool-inducing? Cured meats make your caveman brain happy, high quality cured meats from the Wooded Pig via Sprezzatura will make your day.

03

Calamares a la Andaluza – The Port House

These crunchy little lads are a summer delicacy we are all kinds of about. This basket of mini squid is tossed and seasoned before deep-fried to golden crunch deliciousness. Like all good seafood tapas, they come served with fresh lemon and a banging aioli. So if you’re looking to feel Mediterranean as sangria, this is the dish for you this week.

02

Blueberry & Cream cheese Bun – Go Pan Bakery

This secret Japanese bakery knows how to make a special, and this one looks especially munch-able. Blueberries and cream cheese are a match made in Asian baking heaven that has yet to be adopted by mainstream western bakeries, to their detriment. The sweet and salty flavours mesh well, and the fresh and creamy textures bounce off one another like they’re flirting. Combine that with this Japanese sweet bread pastry, and you have a winner-winner-get-me-this-after-my-dinner.

01

Pajeon – Lucky Tortoise

Savoury pancakes are the way to go far more often than you’d think. This Pajeon from Lucky Tortoise is a Korean scallion pancake that would make tiktokers clutch their pearls in appreciation. The Korean words “pa,” meaning scallion, and “jeon,” refers to foods that have been pan-fried or battered. With this dish, Lucky Tortoise has created something fresh and light with all that frying flavour we love. So get in and get onto it this week.
