Here’s How to Get Free Food This Friday

Tomorrow, September 29, marks the grand opening of “Little Pyg Terrace.” To kick off this momentous occasion, owner Paul McGlade Jnr has a special treat in store: from 16:00 to 18:00, visitors can enjoy a two-hour “Eat and Drink for Free” extravaganza.

The festivities continue throughout the weekend, offering a generous 50% off all food and drinks (excluding top-shelf selections).

The “Little Pyg Terrace” menu boasts small Italian plates perfect for sharing. Options include The Selection Board, showcasing meats and cheeses from Italy, traditional Neapolitan small fried pizzas called Montanarine Fritte, and a must-try burrata plate. An extensive wine list primarily sourced from Italy complements the menu, offering perfect pairings for every dish.

The venue features authentic Spanish tiles, stylish furniture, and carefully preserved 300-year-old walls within the Powerscourt Townhouse. Its retractable side windows, enable waitstaff to serve Italian small plates and cocktails on the spacious, heated terrace along Coppinger Row.

The venue features a rotating art gallery. The inaugural month showcases the captivating work of Italian artist Alex Sapienza, reviving the tradition of commercial glass-plate portrait photography.

Speaking about his vision, Paul McGlade Jnr said: “What makes Little Pyg Terrace exceptional is our dedication to capturing the essence of mainland Europe and bringing it here to Dublin. Having spent much time travelling the world, we have been inspired by the vibrant culture, rich flavours, and warm hospitality of Mainland-European cities, and in particular Italy and Italian food. Our new terrace here gets Dublin’s best sunset. It will be covered and heated, and so can be enjoyed the whole year round. Our team will serve the best Italian street food, cocktails and more out through the sliding windows to terrace-diners.  I’m thrilled to share this experience with our guests and create Ireland’s best terrace.”

“Little Pyg Terrace” opens its doors at 16:00 on September 29, with regular hours from 13:00 – 01:00 daily. Starters are priced from €11.90, sharing plates from €13.90, and Pygtails from €10.00. Reservations can be made at littlepyg.com.
