All Together Now is fast approaching, and we’re all giddy with excitement.
Not only is there a solid line-up of artists for music lovers, but it’s a foodie’s paradise too. Long gone are the days when you had to rely on crumpled granola bars, deflated packets of crisps or greasy chip vans. All Together Now is a gastronomic spectacular with everything from proper sit-down banquets to gourmet food trucks.
When you enter the sprawling Curraghmore Estate and start exploring everything the festival has to offer, it can be a little overwhelming. So we’ve put together our plan of action for what to eat and drink. Follow our lead and all you’ll have to worry about is which acts to catch and getting your tent together.
Take Notes.
The masters of Northern Thai cuisine are bringing their spicy, sweet, smokey, umami dishes to All Together Now. The team will be serving an indulgent four-course meal, family-style. The Night Bazaar menu is €55 per person and promises to transport you to the night markets of Chiang Mai. They’re also covering breakfast, with a line-up of brekkie favourites with a hint of Thai twist, available for €25 per person. You can book a spot via the All Together Now website.
The Great Oven builds giant clay ovens to nourish communities in need, and All Together Now will see the debut of two new ovens, one destined for Palestine after the festival. Tang will host banquets over the weekend, but when they’re not on, you can grab their smoky BBQ dishes with fresh saj bread. It’s important to get your protein in to fuel all the shenanigans ahead.
Our beloved Bahay is back on the festival scene, providing sustenance to visitors of the Guinness 0.0 Toucan Pub. They’ll be blessing revellers with a delectable, roasty-toasty Filipino BBQ on Friday night. Then on Sunday, just when you need it most, they’ll be serving up a lovely roast dinner to bring you back to life. As a special treat, they’ll even be giving out their famous battered sausages for free during Kojaque’s set at noon on Saturday.
It’s a festival, so of course you’re going to eat a burger. The Phat Cow, a Waterford local hero, serves up beautifully balanced, fully loaded burgers packed with fresh toppings. They’re perfect for lining your stomach before a big night or as a morning-after pick-me-up. Expect to find yourself back here more than once over the weekend.
Saucy Wings from All Bar Chicken
All Bar Chicken have their bricks-and-mortar spots around Dublin, but their food truck is ready to bring the saucy goodness to Waterford. A bad wing is the worst thing in the world, but a good wing is pure heaven. When a craving hits, there’s no outrunning it, so thank goodness these guys will be on standby. For such a cheap cut of chicken, it’s amazing how much joy a perfectly crisp, sticky wing brings.
Never deny yourself a succulent Chinese meal, not even at a festival. Spice, salt and rice are the ultimate cure when you’re feeling a bit fragile, and the idea of a full Chinese meal at a festival is groundbreaking. This isn’t your standard takeaway. Hakkahan are masters of authentic, elevated Chinese dishes done right. Treat yourself to sweet and sour chicken, a spice bag, or for a truly posh experience, check out their China Tang pop-up for restaurant-level cuisine including dim sum.
See You at the Festival.
