Glendalough Gin Gets a Wild Wicklow Rebrand

The new bottles of Glendalough Wild Botanical Irish Gin and Glendalough Wild Rose Irish Gin are now available nationwide for forty-four euros.

Get ready to taste the wild beauty of Wicklow with the new Glendalough Irish Gin! It’s crafted with the freshest, hand-picked wild botanicals. It’s a luxury gin that captures the purest expression of the rich land of Glendalough.

The bottle design looks like it was picked straight from the forest floor. And the new design pays homage to the bountiful valley of Glendalough.

The front of the bottle features St. Kevin, the founder of Glendalough’s monastery, standing as a strong but gentle guardian. And on the back, you’ll find wild botanicals beautifully embossed around the bottle. Amongst the bottle’s embossed botanicals, you’ll even find nods to Glendalough’s ancient past. Included are places like the Monastery Archway, Seven Churches, and Deer Stone.

According to Geraldine Kavanagh, the forager behind this magic, “The inspiration for the flavour of our gin comes from the scents, sights and tastes of Glendalough. And it’s my job to put that essence of place into the bottle.” And boy does she do a great job!

Every day, within hours of foraging, Geraldine’s harvest is handed to Ciarán “Rowdy” Rooney. Rowdy is Glendalough Distillery’s Head Distiller, who uses small-batch slow-distillation to tease out the delicate flavours.

Reflecting Glendalough Distillery’s respect for the land, the team is engaging with The Pure Mile. Together they’re dedicating time and resources to litter picks and clean-ups in the Wicklow Mountains, enhancing the area.
