Everything you need to know: New reduced prices for public transport

From today, the 90-minute fare for adults will be two euro.
Fares on Dublin Bus, Luas, Go Ahead Ireland and Irish Rail’s DART and commuter services in the Greater Dublin Area have been cut by 20 per cent for the remainder of 2022.
Those aged between 19 and 23 will experience a 50 per cent reduction in fares on public transport from Monday by using an existing Student Leap card or applying for a new Young Adult Leap card. The 90-minute fare for this age group will be one euro, while for children it will be 65 cent.
The 50 per cent decrease for 19 to 23-year-olds is permanent, it is unclear whether adult prices will still be reduced in 2023.

All Iarnród Éireann’s intercity and commuter fares across the country will also drop. Prices for Bus Éireann and Local Link services were reduced by 20 per cent last month.
Fares on public transport are being reduced as part of Government plans to help reduce the cost of living and encourage more sustainable travel.
