The 2026 Michelin Awards for the UK and Ireland Will Be Held in Dublin

Words: Hannah Lemass

Details for next year’s Michelin Guide Awards have been revealed, and Dublin has the honour of hosting gastronomy’s most lauded night.

The ceremony will take place on February 9 at the Convention Centre Dublin, with the Guide describing the capital as the “perfect setting to celebrate the talent and passion that drive our industry forward.” The event will bring together top chefs and industry insiders from across the UK and Ireland for the unveiling of the 2026 Michelin stars, Bib Gourmands, and Green Stars.

“We are delighted to bring the Michelin Guide Ceremony to Dublin, a city whose energy and creativity mirror the vitality of the region’s gastronomy. Hosting the event here highlights Ireland’s growing place on the culinary map and the excellence of chefs across Great Britain and Ireland.”

-Gwendal Poullennec,
International Director of the Michelin Guides

On the night, Michelin will award restaurants in Ireland and Great Britain with one to three stars for their food, based on the quality of the ingredients used, mastery of flavour and cooking techniques, the personality of the chef in the cuisine, harmony of flavours, and consistency between visits. They also give out Green Stars for restaurants at the forefront of the industry in sustainability and Bib Gourmand awards for high-quality food at good value.

Ireland’s culinary scene is thriving, with 23 restaurants on the island currently holding Michelin-starred recognition and dozens more with a Bib Gourmand. The choice of Dublin as host city is a clear indicator that momentum is getting recognition on an interaction scale.

All eyes will be on the Convention Centre on the big night to see which new Irish restaurants are added to the Guide and whether we will finally see an Irish restaurant achieve the much-coveted three-star status.
