Bahay has a new permanent location

Bahay Blanch will bring their signature style of Filipino street food to Blanchardstown. A place that has a local Pinoy community.

Blanchardstown is an area filled with creativity and rich cultural diversity. In an Instagram post, the team said they “think it’s the perfect place to bring (their) first-ever permanent Bahay to life.”

Chef Richie Castillo and his partner in business and life, Alex O’Neill are the creative minds behind Bahay. Originally a food truck Bahay has been evolving over the past few years. They found success on the festival circuit at Beyond the PaleOtherside Festival and Another Love Story.

This pair have been all over the city. Between a residency at Roe & Co Distillery, a sell-out weekend at Hen’s Teeth, and Best Front of House at Taste of Dublin. And they recently popped up at Mae in Ballsbridge for a sell-out tasting menu experience.

More details on the new space are expected soon, such as the menu. Think “tocino pan de sal sambos, pork bbq skewers and lumpia”. Their menus tend to focus on locally grown, seasonal Irish produce with Filipino flavours and cooking styles. Typically they have street food options, small plates and specials.

Past favourites include hearty Filipino stews, brussel sprout slaw with calamansi dressing, and longanisa hot dogs and pork buns. Like everything they have done previously, the dynamic Bahay family are “giving this all(they’ve) got” and are excited to see customers where this new venture takes them.

They will also be looking for staff in the coming weeks, and those interested in working for them are encouraged to DM them on Instagram or email their CVs to bahaydub@gmail.com.
