Trapikal to Pop Up in Dublin

Words: Shamim deBrun

Galway’s renowned Jamaican eatery, Trapikal, is set to make a flavorful debut in Dublin 15 on Monday and Tuesday. It promises to fulfil all your jerk BBQ and sweet plantain fantasies.

Trapikal is the brainchild of Oshane Malcolm. Malcolm is a Jamaican-born chef with deep Irish-Jamaican roots. Having honed his culinary skills in restaurants across both Galway and Dublin, Oshane Malcolm decided to pay homage to his heritage and passion by bringing Jamaican flavours to the forefront. His fusion creations and traditional Jamaican offerings have catapulted Trapikal to gastronomic stardom.

Mr. Malcolm’s childhood memories, brimming with nostalgia and joy, serve as the cornerstone of Trapikal’s culinary philosophy. He has painstakingly crafted a menu that faithfully captures the essence and taste of the Jamaican dishes he grew up with. Now he’s ready to share this culinary treasure with Dublin’s food aficionados.

Trapikal will unfurl its shutters at Royalty’s Kitchen on Porters Avenue, Coolmine Industrial Estate on Monday, the 25th. They’ll kick off service around noon and continuing until 23:00. The offerings will continue to be available on the following day from 15:00 to 23:00. Which ensures ample time for patrons to savour every morsel of this Jamaican culinary adventure.

Dublin’s food scene is about to receive a vibrant and flavorful infusion, and Trapikal is the place to be next week for an unforgettable taste of Jamaica right here in Ireland’s capital. Prepare your taste buds, Dublin, because a burst of Jamaican flavour is headed your way.
