Margadh to open in Grand Canal at the end of June

The team at Margadh have announced that they will be opening their new venture in Grand Canal next Wednesday, June 29.

The new restaurant will put a strong emphasis on cheese and wine. The space will also stock a range of local goods, Margadh home meals, a dine-in and takeaway menu, as well as tea and coffee, among other offerings.

Margadh first announced the opening of their third restaurant a few months ago but revealed in an Instagram post today the name, opening date, and location of the new venture. A second Margadh opened on September 21 in the Royal Hibernian Academy and has been well-reviewed since.

Born out of the closure of Mamó Restaurant during Covid, owners Jess D’Arcy and Killian Durkin opened Margadh in October 2020. Jess was an ex-Etto staff member. Durkin had held positions at Chapter One and Thornton’s. They struck out on their own to open Mamó, their first restaurant in Howth in 2019.

Working alongside their high-end chefs, they created a menu of high-end deli and at-home products. Margadh in the RHA also stocks a large variety of high-quality Irish and European products in-store. In addition, Margadh Grand Canal will include a wine bar, fine artisan food and wine, morning fare, lunch, hampers and “everything in between”.

Mamó is described as “a contemporary European dining experience in a relaxed and friendly setting”, highlighting north Co Dublin’s abundant produce in a modern way, alongside a dynamic wine list. It is currently undergoing a fancy refurbishment and will reopen soon.

Margadh Grand Canal will be led by a team of experienced food and wine professionals on the floor. Keep an eye on their Instagram for more information about the opening.
