Madrí Excepcional invites food enthusiasts on a month-long journey of pints and pintxos… Salud!
Add this to the growing list of excellent excuses to enjoy a pint once the sun comes out. This month, Mediterranean-style lager, Madrí Excepcional, is taking Dublin’s pint and small-plates-lovers on a savoury safari for the month of May (equal parts delicious as fun!).
From May 1st to May 31st, tapas fans have the chance to tour Dublin through some of its finest restaurants. Lemon & Duke, Dakota, The Seafood Café, and TapHouse are all involved in the fun, each platforming a signature dish on the tour, expertly crafted to complement the crisp, smooth and refreshing taste of Madrí Excepcional.
But what are these expertly crafted beer pairings I hear you ask? Well, The Seafood Café is starting strong: offering guests 1st of the Season Irish Brown Crab served a number of ways. With several options to choose from, such as Romero Style, Classic Chilled & Dressed and Old Bay, there’s sure to be something for everyone (and failing that there’s a side of fries for the picky eaters in the group – we see you). Next, in true Dakota fashion – wings are on the menu on South William Street.
But variety comes towards the end of the tour with TapHouse, they’re serving up crispy suckling pork rack schnitzel, a Morcilla Scotch Egg with Tomato Relish and Black Garlic Aioli, and chicharricos (or the crispiest pork skins for those of you who aren’t on learning Spanish on Duo Lingo).
The truth is, most salty, fried, umami things taste better when washed down with a cold pint of lager. For more info, check out the map of the crawl @madriexcepcional for more.
