The chef and Ottolenghi collaborator will launch Mezcla! Her first cookbook with a dinner at Hen’s Teeth in Dublin on September 1.
Ixta will cook a one-off dinner for guests, and after, Ixta will chat with Irish food writer Ali Dunworth on her new book, inspirations from the three countries she grew up in, and working alongside the great Yotam Ottolenghi. Mezcal cocktails will be served too.
Tickets are strictly limited and come in at a hundred and ten euros, including dinner for two and a signed copy of the book.
Ixta Belfrage lives in East London. She is the co-author, with Yotam Ottolenghi, of his most recent book, Flavour, and works in the famous Israeli chef’s test kitchen in London.
Ixta’s style of cooking draws inspiration from three countries she grew up travelling to, eating in and obsessing over; Brazil (where her mum is from), Italy (where she lived as a child) and Mexico (where her grandad lived). She cut her teeth at NOPI restaurant before working at the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen for five years. In 2021, she was named one of the most influential women in food by Code Hospitality.
Yotam Ottolenghi is a well-known chef and author of six cookbooks. He is widely beloved in the food world for his award-winning cookbooks and his London delis and fine dining restaurant. And while he’s known for his savoury and vegetarian dishes, he started his cooking career as a pastry chef.
Hen’s Teeth creates contemporary cultural experiences from their home on Blackpitts in Dublin 8. They’ve got a love for art, music, food and culture and the space where they all come together – whether through their gallery, store and café or for some of the exciting folks and brands they collaborate with worldwide. Recent food events include An Evening with Tom Booton, Head Chef at The Grill at the Dorchester; Vito’s, a pop-up trattoria with Soprano’s star Joe Gannascoli and a Bahay x Hen’s Teeth Weekender.
