Boiler Room to compensate DJs who have played sets in new partnership with Apple

The new agreement ensures that not only those who performed in Boiler Room sets, but those who have their music featured in the mixes will be paid.

Tonight Boiler Room launched a new partnership with Apple Music allowing subscribers to access an archive of their mixes online.

It has over 200 of their recordings from the last ten years and every week one historic set will be showcased on Apple Music one alongside an in-depth interview as part on the new initiative.

Importantly, the partnership will compensate all the artists involved in the selected sets – from the songwriters to the artists that produced tracks in the mixes. 100 per cent of the royalties from streams will go the rights holders.

It’s a welcome piece of news for an industry completely decimated by COVID-19.

Read the full statement about the initiative here.
