ILFD Announce 2022 Line Up

The Irish Literary Festival Dublin announced its festival lineup and new Literary Village in Merrion Square Park.
The 25th Anniversary edition of ILFD will run from 19-29 May. This year sees it present a record-breaking programme of over one hundred and fifty events. The festival includes a diverse mix of authors, speakers, creatives, and performers from over thirty countries. In addition, there will be discussions, talks, debates, as well as a whole selection of food trucks and pop-ups curated by Char and District Magazine.
Featured artists include Bernardine Evaristo, the first Black woman to win the Booker Prize, the polarizing Richard Dawkins, Emilie Pine author of Notes to Self and BBC journalist Nick Sheridan.
The lineup includes District Magazine’s Noontide lunchtime sessions featuring a mix of chats and music. These include an acoustic performance from Tomike, a Sour Grapes Panel Discussion, and a “Chef’s Selection”.
Instead of popping up in multiple venues around the city as it had previously, this year, Merrion Square Park will become the new festival home. A Literary Village will be constructed on the grounds for the eleven days of the celebrations. ILFD chose Merrion Square because of its “rich and unique literary history”.

“I’m delighted to see the International Literature Festival Dublin, a Dublin City Council initiative, enter an exciting new chapter as it celebrates its 25th anniversary in its new home in Merrion Square Park. This new location is steeped in literary history, and we look forward to the return of in-person events bringing colour and life to one of Dublin City’s most beloved city parks. It’s inspiring to see a programme of over 150 in-person events with so many great world-renowned authors from Ireland and abroad celebrating the power of words in the heart of Dublin; a UNESCO designated City of Literature and a UNESCO Learning City.”
