Griolladh Announce Permanent Dublin City Centre Location

Grilled cheese food-truck entrepreneurs Griolladh are set to take up residence on the Abbey Street side of Arnotts.

In an Instagram post today, October 20, they announced their “biggest move to date” and said, “This has been in the works for a while, and we are buzzing to finally announce it.”

2020 was the year when the cheese toastie elevated itself to the “salvation food” level. Griolladh was a massive part of that.

Griolladh co-founders Jacob Long and Jack Brennan were bar managers who were furloughed during the first lockdown. They decided to use their unexpected free time to launch a pop-up food truck in a front garden in the Malahide. And so laid the foundations for what was to come.

They chose cheese toasties because “we thought it was something simple that we could do in a tight space, but which we could also work on perfecting by choosing the best bread, blending cheeses and creating interesting flavour combinations”, according to an interview with Jacob did with Lock in 2020

By focusing on the steadfast hero that is the cheese toastie for their menu, Griolladh (meaning “grilled”) was a hit with the new WFH brigade and has since expanded to five successful pop-ups across the county.

Griolladh uses only Irish suppliers and collaborates with other independent businesses while supporting local charities.
